บทความน่ารู้
คำว่า Access Control มาจากคำว่า Access และ Control ดังนั้น Access Control จึงแปลความหมายได้ว่า การควบคุมการเข้าถึง หรือเข้าไปในส่วนหรือสถานที่ที่เราต้องการควบคุม ดังนั้นระบบ Access Control จึงมีความหมายแบบกว้าง ๆ โดยไม่ได้ระบุว่าเป็นการควบคุมการเข้าถึงอะไร ในที่นี้เราจะพูดถึงเฉพาะการควบคุมบุคคลและยานพาหนะ
การควบคุมหรือการจำแนกบุคคล (Personal) และยานพาหนะ (Vehicle) ที่ได้รับความนิยมมีดังนี้ :The verification method
1. ใช้ ร.ป.ภ (Guard Man) ในการตรวจสอบถ้าเป็นบุคคลก็ใช้การจดจำบุคคลหรือตรวจสอบจากเอกสารที่ใช้ยืนยันตัวตนของบุคคล ถ้าเป็นรถยนต์ก็ใช้สติ๊กเกอร์ที่ติดอยู่กระจกด้านหน้ารถยนต์

2.2.1 Contact Card (มีการสัมผัสระหว่างตัวอ่านบัตรกับบัตร)
A. Smart Card (เหมือนบัตรประชาชนที่มีแผ่นทองเหลืองเหมือนกับซิมโทรศัพท์)
B. Magnetic Card เป็นบัตรแถบแม่เหล็ก ต้องใช้การรูดบัตรหรือสอดบัตรเข้าไปในเครื่องอ่านบัตร เหมือนกับบัตร ATM
2.2.2 Contactless Card (ไม่มีการสัมผัสระหว่างตัวอ่านบัตรกับบัตร)
2.2.2.1 Short range card reader (ระยะการอ่านไม่เกิน 10 Cm.)
A. Low frequency : 124KHz -> Proximity Card
B. High Frequency : 13.56MHz -> Mifare, iClass Card
2.2.2.2 Mid range card reader
A. 60 Cm. read range : 124KHz
B. 80-110 Cm. read range : 124KHz ขึ้นอยู่กับจำนวนขดลวดของบัตรที่นำมาอ่านด้วย
2.2.2.3 Long range Card reader (ระยะการอ่านบัตร 3-15 เมตร)
A. UHF (900MHz) Frequency : Passive Card บัตร หรือ Tag ไม่ต้องมีถ่าน (Batterry)
B. Microwave (2.4GHz) Frequency : Active Card (ใช้ถ่าน) อำนาจทะลุทะลวงในการอ่านบัตรสูง
